Want to know how messed up this country is getting? Well I will tell you. When someone who has the money to purchase a professional football team and become partial owner is denied because some people do not like his views is completely ridiculous. Of course I am talking about how several people including Commissioner of the NFL Roger Goodell, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson made it impossible for Rush Limbaugh to not be able to make the purchase of the St. Louis Rams. These people, along with several others think that Rush has a “racist” view-point; therefore it would hamper the improvements that the NFL has been making.
My friends, this is what we call reverse-racism. Of course there will be some who disagree, but hear my point out. The reasons some people claim why Rush should not be an owner or even involved in the NFL is because they believe he has made “racist statements.” Here are some of the statements Rush has made: while speaking about Donovan McNabb, Rush said, “I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well.” Where is the racism sentiment in that statement? Rush also said “What is happening to the National Football League, what is about to happen to it, has already happened to Wall Street, has already happened to the automobile business.”
Rush believes there is so much hatred in the sports world pertaining to him that he said, “Believe me, the hatred that exists in this is found in the sports-writer community, it’s found in the new business, it’s found in the race hustler business.” There is not one instance that Rush has made a “racist” statement towards anyone in the NFL. Rush Limbaugh actually love the game of football and it pretty furious that some people will not allow him to purchase a team.
A classic example of some true racism is when Al Sharpton opened his mouth and said, “It’s remarkable in that he (Rush Limbaugh) was denied by other powerful whites. At the end of the day, his own peers said, ‘You are a liability.’ Even the rich and powerful do not want to identify with racism.” Well Mr. Sharpton, what you said there is true racism towards whites. Your hatred towards Mr. Limbaugh is clearly evident which, if I am not mistaken would be called “racism” if it were the other way around.
I will agree with one thing: most of the owners and the league in general do think that Rush might hurt profits because of his views. However, I think that denying someone the chance of a lifetime, who has the money to purchase a team, is truly un-American. If there was a fear of racism, I am sure that the NFLPA would have stepped in because they sure did help deny Rush for getting the team. Maybe the NFL will look back at this and realize Rush could have actually helped out the league with promotion through his radio show!
What should Rush do now? Well, Rush should continue to attack those who call him racist. He should also not give up his fight for trying to get the Rams or any other team. However, he has said he has lost nothing is not getting the team because it was not the most important thing to him. Rush Limbaugh has been wronged one too many times now. It is time for people to realize that Rush Limbaugh really is not the enemy.
you are correct sir. -zac
ReplyDeleteAs much as I despise Rush Limbaugh and would love nothing more than to push his wrinkly fat disgusting drug filled body off a cliff, I agree with you. In America a person should have the freedom to buy what they so choose without persecution. He has every right as granted by our constitution to buy an NFL team regardless of his views. However he was dropped from the group by Dave Checketts himself, because Mr. Checketts had believed that he had become a liability to keeping the Rams in St. Louis. So the lord giveth and the lord taketh away. as much as he deserved the right to buy the Rams, Dave Checketts equally had the right to drop him from the group trying to buy the team. Personally, I would have loved to see him buy the Rams because they suck MAJOR BALLS. They have gone 5-33 in the past 3 years. He would have owned the worst team in the NFL. He would likely become the next Al Davis. That would have been so much better than what has happened to him over the last few weeks
ReplyDeleteHere's a lovely bit by my favorite reverse-racists that always makes me smile:
ReplyDeleteIn South Los Angeles, a fire destroyed a fourplex.
A Nigerian family of six conartists lived on the first floor, and all six died in the fire.
An Islamic group of seven Kenyan welfare cheats, all illegally in the country, lived on the second floor, and they, too, all perished in the fire.
Six LA, Hispanic, Gang Banger, ex-cons lived on the 3rd floor and they too, died.
One white couple lived on the top floor. The couple survived the fire.
Jesse Jackson, John Burris and Al Sharpton were furious. They flew into LA and quickly demanded a meeting with the fire chief. On camera, they loudly demanded to know why the Blacks, Black Muslims and Hispanics all died in the fire and only the white couple lived.
The fire chief quietly replied, "Simple--- they were at work."
